Kaffemik Experience

Step into a true Greenlandic tradition and experience the warmth of a Kaffemik, a unique social gathering where hospitality, storytelling, and local flavours come together. During this 2-hour cultural experience you'll be welcomed into a cozy setting where our local hosts, often elders and experienced women from the community, share their traditions and everyday life. You'll be served a wide selection of Greenlandic delicacies in small tasting portions, including local specialities from the sea and land, prepared in traditional ways such as dried, boiled, or fried. After the savoury tastings, enjoy coffee or tea with homemade desserts. Throughout the visit, our hosts will present handmade Greenlandic costumes and crafts, and share the stories behind them. There will be an opportunity to purchase authentic handmade items directly from the women who created them.
