Om os

Bygget på lokal erfaring. Drevet af folk, der bor her.

Ilulissat Tours ApS is a proud 100% locally owned company based in Ilulissat, Greenland. Our number one goal is always service, communication, and flexibility, ensuring every guest feels welcome, safe, and well taken care of throughout their experience with us.

Sådan blev det til

Ilulissat Tours ApS was built from a mix of experience, ideas, and a shared goal to do things properly.

Sâlêrak has been running his own taxi business in Ilulissat for more than 10 years. With a strong connection to the town and its development, he wanted to build something that could continue into the next generation. That's why he invested in boats and brought his buses into the company. Silas has worked closely with him in both taxi and bus operations for years and is part of the same foundation.

At the same time, Nick and Niklas had already been talking about creating something of our own. We have both worked in tourism for more than 5 years, as captains, guides, and in daily operations on the water. Over time, it became clear that we wanted to build something better ourselves. We have seen how visitors experience Ilulissat, and we felt there was room for something more personal, where service, communication, and local knowledge come first.

For us, this is not just seasonal work. This is where we live. We know the water, the conditions, and the way life works here, because we've grown up with it and continue to work in it all year round. That's what we bring into every tour: real local knowledge, honest service, and an experience that feels natural, not scripted.

Sådan arbejder vi

We operate in separate Arctic seasons throughout the year. Summer focuses mainly on experiences at sea: icefjord cruises, whale watching, glacier tours, and private boat charters. Winter focuses mainly on land-based activities: snowmobile tours, dog sledding, ice fishing, and other Arctic winter adventures. Bus transportation runs all year for visitors and cruise ship guests.

All of our tours include transfers, so it's easy and comfortable for guests from start to finish. When we approach whales we slow down and turn the engine off. We don't waste fish that we catch. The dogs that work with us in winter are part of the family, not just the operation. We try to do things properly, because we will be here doing them again next season.
